  • 3 cups water
  • 2 family-size tea bags
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 1 tablespoon grated fresh ginger
  • 7 cups cold water
  • Garnish: lemon slices
  • Preparation

Bring 3 cups water to some boil in a saucepan; add tea bags. Boil 1 minute; remove from heat. Cover and steep Ten minutes.
Discard tea bags. Stir in honey and ginger. Pour right into a 1-gal. container.

  • 4-6 thin slices raw ginger
  • 1 1/2 – 2 cups water
  • juice from 1/2 lime, in order to taste (may use lemon instead of lime)
  • 1-2 tbsp honey or agave nectar, or to taste


Peel the ginger and slice thinly to maximise the surface area. This will help you create a very flavorful ginger tea. Boil the ginger in water not less than 10 minutes. For a stronger and tangier tea, allow to boil for 20 minutes or more, and use more slices of ginger. Remove from heat and add lime juice and honey (or agave nectar) to taste.

  • 1 (1-inch) piece fresh ginger, peeled

  • 1 regular-size green tea bag
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 cup boiling water


Grate ginger, while using large holes of a box grater, to equal 1 Tbsp. Squeeze juice from ginger right into a teacup; discard solids. Place tea bag, fresh lemon juice, and honey in teacup; add boiling water. Cover and steep 3 minutes. Remove and discard tea bag, squeezing gently.

  • 2-inch piece of fresh ginger root or 1/4 cup freshly grated ginger
  • Juice of 1 lemon (optional)
  • 1/4 cup honey (optional)

Peel the ginger root and slice it into thin slices. Bring the water to some boil in a saucepan. Once it’s boiling, add the ginger. For a more lemon taste, add some lemon juice and the whole squeezed lemon towards the boiling water as well. Cover it and reduce to a simmer for 15-20 minutes. Instead of adding lemon to boiling water, you may even add it “to taste” after the boiling process.

Line a strainer having a thin wet cloth and strain tea right into a pitcher. Stir in honey and lemon to taste. Serve hot or chill thoroughly and serve on ice with thin slices of lemon and lime.
